Dr. Zachary has agreed to serve as interim dean of the College of Arts & Sciences until the position is filled. As an associate dean, he has worked closely with the dean and department chairs on issues related to curriculum, facilities, technology, planning and assessment, education, and more. He coordinates the annual collaborative faculty-student grant, oversees catalog edits, supervises annual technology inventories and replacements, represents the college on assorted university committees, and otherwise assists the dean and department chairs in addressing the college’s strategic agenda.  As professor of theatre, Dr. Zachary teaches across the undergraduate and graduate curriculum.
 

 

Dean's Staff

Five members of the dean's staff -- Director of Administration, Major Gifts Officer, Director of Instructional Design, Assistant to the Dean and Administrative Secretary -- work full time in the administrative office. The others teach in various college departments as well as handle administrative duties.

Ms. Cassiere works closely with the dean on numerous college initiatives, especially those concerning student services. She coordinates student orientation programs, assists with class enrollment management, directs the advising center and serves as a liaison to departmental chairs. Ms. Cassiere also assists with advising of undeclared majors and specializes in working with students who experience difficulties in progressing through their educational plans. Ms. Cassiere lectures part-time in the Department of Biological Sciences and Religious Studies Program.

Ms. Sweeney works with the dean to develop and implement departmental and college goals in relation to the mission of the college and the university's strategic agenda. She is charged with administering funds for the college as well as assisting with the interpretation of college and university policies and procedures. Her other responsibilities are managing special projects to analyze and advance the college, training and assisting new department chairs and directing office personnel in select activities and recurring projects.

Mr. Neumeyer provides administrative support to the staff in the dean's office and serves as liaison with other academic and administrative units, as well as faculty, staff and students in the college. He is responsible for coordinating schedules for the administrative staff, compiling and researching data, coordinating the RPT process and the CINSAM/Greaves Scholarship selection. His other duties include assisting with processing of payroll and correspondence and supervising student employees. Josh is also a part-time instructor of stage management for the Department of Theatre and Dance.

Julie Budden works on behalf of the college to advocate its fundraising priorities to the University Development Office. Her primary responsibility is meeting and working with individuals, corporations and foundations who are interested in directly supporting the college and its programs. She coordinates her fundraising efforts with Strategic Initiatives for NKU.

As the director of Integrative Studies, Dr. Meyers oversees the undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs. She develops and implements policies, organizes marketing strategies and assists students and faculty members associated with the programs.  Additionally, Dr. Meyers works on numerous college initiatives as the co-director of the College of Arts and Sciences Faculty Learning Community and as facilitator for the Interdisciplinary Program Directors' group.  Dr. Meyers also teaches web-based and traditional courses for Integrative Studies, Women's and Gender Studies and the history department.

Amy's responsibilities in the dean's office are advising undeclared majors, evaluating general education transfer credit and assisting with freshmen orientation. She represents the college at recruitment events, assists with the training of retention specialists and coordinates the college's academic assistance plans.  Amy also lectures part-time for NKU's Department of Biological Sciences.

Jennifer's duties include advising Liberal Studies majors, advising undeclared majors, evaluating transfer credit and engaging in student-centered activities, such as orientations, Black & Gold Days and major/minor fairs. She also lectures part-time for the Department of Political Science & Criminal Justice.

Ms. Faulkner ensures the smooth clerical operation of the college's administrative office. Her responsibilities include processing all clerical and secretarial work for the assistant dean and other staff, overseeing faculty evaluations, maintaining student records and serving as liaison for all student needs. Ms. Faulkner monitors and routes incoming calls to the dean's office and advising center. She also maintains the busy calendars for the assistant dean and advising specialists.
