A major in the biological sciences can lead to a variety of careers including research, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, teaching, forensics and many other areas.  To facilitate preparation for these areas, the department offers a degree in General Biology with several tracks. Since several of these pre-professional areas require a bachelor's degree before acceptance into a professional degree program at another institution, all students are encouraged to pursue work in one of the tracks identified above.
