Writing Instruction Program

Welcome! The Writing Instruction Program at NKU helps students not only develop the writing and research skills they need for effective communication in the classroom and in the work place, but also use writing to explore the world, express your opinions, and accomplish your goals.

Our first-year course will help you make the transition to university-level writing. Our advanced course will help you become an independent writer with a more sophisticated style. In these courses, you will learn about writing for a variety of purposes, audiences and situations. You'll also learn how to locate, evaluate, and use information from electronic and print resources. These courses will help prepare you to write better in your other courses, in your career, and in your communities.
