Audition Information

BFA/Scholarship Auditions/Interviews

Spring auditions: April (date to be announced)

Any student admitted to NKU may declare the Theatre and Dance Bachelor of Arts degree as a major. For those wishing to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, the department of Theatre and Dance offers B.F.A. degrees in Acting, Dance, Design/Technology, Musical Theatre, Playwriting, and Stage Management.

Scholarships granted from these auditions/interviews are Theatre and Dance departmental scholarships  awarded on merit. These are separate from other NKU or external scholarships. Students already receiving full scholarships are ineligible for these awards, but may audition for the BFA program at this audition/interview. Those who wish to pursue scholarships but who do
not wish to pursue the BFA degree may also attend this audition/interview.

NKU Theatre and Dance will accept video auditions/presentations only by special arrangement. Meeting and speaking with candidates is a vital part of the assessment process.

It is helpful for students to demonstrate as much versatility as possible within the audition/interview. While we do not expect candidates to be polished theatre artists, we are eager to explore each applicant’s potential as a future theatre student.
